no bro u don't need any of that.....listen to me carefully and do exactly as i say in this order...first check u're system software....when u bought u're psp what software was installed...if it was below 4.05 than u might be able to switch to cfw...if that is the case u need to do following steps...first format u're mmc...then pandorise u're battery...it's a tricky thing cuz u might damage it but u can try hard modding.I did hard modding and switched from 3.90 to 4.01 m33-2.

ok so u need to search for Total newbie Pandora installer...just google it.this program will switch u're psp soft to 3.71 m33. and then upgrade to 4.01 m33-2

motheboard version plays importatn role here....
you cant softmod your battery if your mobo is ta-088 which is the slim mobo.....try hardmod your baterry....
