I love cricket. I have played it since I was a small boy. My set of pads was way too big and my batting gloves made it hard to hold onto the bat. I watch it on TV whenever I get the chance, and I will see it live at my beloved MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground). I have even played a wide range of cricket games on PC. Some of them have been decent, some just plain awful. But recently, there seems to have been some improvement in cricket games, and Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007 (aka Brian Lara International Cricket 2007) looks to be in the latter category.

From the moment the game is installed, Ricky Ponting puts the gamer in Calypso mode. The reason for this is that Ricky Ponting has been officially licensed by the ICC and includes the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, based in the West Indies, as part of the game. The game begins with Rastafarian tunes blaring and immediately the game is livened up with the Caribbean flair. You could just imagine yourself sipping some of the regions finest rum while listening to the melodies. But there are more important things to do...

With the ICC Cricket World Cup currently in progress in the Caribbean, what could be better than winning the coveted trophy yourself? Well, if that?s not enough there is the Champions Trophy to win, as well as numerous other tournaments including Test tournaments, Twenty20 championships and custom ODI games. And with all World Cup teams as well as your own custom teams available, there is enough variety to keep the cricket fan going for some time.

One of the greatest strengths of Ricky Ponting is the ease of which anyone can just start to play a game. The batting and bowling both are very instinctive and have improved greatly from past cricket games. One of the nice little touches, though, is in the loading screens. They contain some cricketing terms that may not be familiar to gamers of non-cricketing .s and gives definitions for such strange terms as Googly, Duck, Sticky Wicket and Leg Bye. This idea may only be minor, but it does give the gamer something to read whilst the game is loading and is interesting to boot.

There have been a number of new features added that make batting just that much more realistic and indeed more fun. Batting seems to have been made easier by the number of strokes available. Playing a shot is simply a matter of selecting the desired shot as well as the placement of the scoring stroke. By looking at the small radar in the bottom corner of the screen, the field placements can be seen, and suitable shots can be played. If the confidence is up, and the fielders are close in, it is possible to just hit over the top with relative assurance that you won?t get caught.

Confidence is one the great new features of the game. Batsmen now have a confidence meter, which improves as their stay at the crease continues. Once the batting meter gets high enough, it makes it easier for batsmen to pull off the big shots. Also, having a high confidence meter enables the batsman to dance down the pitch to loft the bowler back over his head. The confidence meter is a great concept, as it means the batsman must play himself in. But once you are in, hitting the big shot feels great. Watching the replay as the ball sails out of the playing arena and the crowd stand in appreciation of the marvellous strike is a thrill. But be warned, get it wrong and your batsman could be wincing in pain as the ball hits him in the, um... well, you know where. Hopefully he was wearing a protective box.

Running between wickets is also straightforward. Once the ball has been hit, selecting the run button gets the batsmen running between the wickets. Pressing again gets them going for another run. A small inset box is displayed in the top-left corner of the screen, so you can see their progress. If you think you?ve made a mistake going for that sneaky single, you can always change your mind. If your batsman looks to be in trouble he will dive for the line in an attempt to make it back into his crease. Inevitably though, run-outs do occur. If it is close, the umpire will refer his decision to the third umpire and a decision will be given.

Its a great Game. When i played this game it is pretty good than 2005 but it still requires plenty of updates(especially AI part).I liked hitting plenty of sixes & four's but i always on highest difficulty level Of AI's, still it is so easy to defeat them.Multi-player was like okay,but custom players should be available in Multi-player & Single player World Cup modes,etc.Plenty of improvements in Batting & Bowling has been done.Fielding was kind of same like 2005 nothing much different.But Its great Game though with some improvements.I still like BLIC 2007.I hope next game will be more realistic espcially AI's part.

Just unrar the the first part of the winrar file that has part1, you dont need to unrar the other parts (part2,part3 etc). once you've done that you should see the setup.exe file, just double click and the installation should start, after apply the crack and your done.

just incase you unrar the first part and u get more rarfiles, just unrar the first rar again e.g part1 until u see the files and folders for installation.

Command & Conquer Generals - Zero Hour

It's only been eight months since the release of Command & Conquer: Generals, the latest installment in this extremely popular real-time strategy series. Though Generals was the first C&C that did not bear the name of Westwood Studios (the series' original developer), it was still every bit as action-packed and fast-paced as the series has ever been. It represented a great combination of the over-the-top pyrotechnics the series is known for, along with some of the gameplay elements perfected by Blizzard's competing RTS franchises. However, the game clearly left some room for additional content, so, while it's no surprise that Generals went on to get its own expansion pack--as pretty much every Command & Conquer game gets at least one--the newly released Zero Hour was put together surprisingly quickly. You wouldn't know it just from playing this fully featured expansion pack, since it makes plenty of meaningful and interesting changes to the original game. Additionally, it packs in a lot of great tweaks and improvements to those aspects of Generals that could have used more polish. The result is a great expansion that's a must for anyone who enjoyed Generals. It fundamentally improves the core game, it and should ensure that C&C Generals continues to be popular well into the next year.

Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation

the ubiquitous Lara Croft is back. After multiple appearances on the PlayStation, the aging icon is back to face her "last revelation" before moving on to the PlayStation2. This installment has everything that earlier Tomb Raider games had: physical puzzles, a sufficient arsenal, and lots of exploration, but this time in Egypt.

Lara returns with her old slate of moves plus a few new ones. She can climb, crawl, dangle, swing from ropes, and leap. Revolvers, crossbows, and Uzis are Lara's weapons of choice, and she can combine these with ammo she picks up along the way. Lara also will take control of speedy vehicles for some sweat- wrenching chases through the desert.

The story reveals Lara's roots as a young protégé of Professor Werner Von Croy. A training level puts players in the role of a pigtailed child Croft, getting newcomers accustomed to the controls, after which Lara regains her distinctly grown-up form. While Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation doesn't do much that's new, the old formula works well, although the pace still might be a little too slow for action fans. --Robb Guido

In many ways, Call to Power II is what Activision probably meant the first Call to Power to be. Many people abandoned the first one due to its clumsy interface, which seemed to defy all logic and convention. Apparently, Activision took those users' complaints to heart, because the interface in Call to Power II is tremendously improved. The dialog boxes are better organized, buttons can be moved easily between the various summary screens, and everything is much more intuitively laid out. Therefore, unlike in the first game, those players with even a passing acquaintance with the Civilization concept will be able to jump into Call to Power II without much trouble. That's a significant improvement over the original Call to Power.
The graphics have also been given an overhaul, and while they are almost identical in style to those in Call to Power, they've been cleaned up - so now, they look very attractive. In addition, the animations and many of the sounds are extremely well done. Visually, Call to Power II is excellent.
One of the biggest changes to the Civilization system in the original Call to Power was the removal of some of the city-specific micromanagement, which was intrinsic to the whole Civilization concept. Instead of clicking through every city to adjust whether an individual worker was on a grassland or a plains tile, Call to Power introduced the concept of "public works." You'd designate a certain percentage of an empire's tax income to go to public works, and you'd use this pool of cash to construct tile improvements. These tile improvements can be made to any tile within a city's sphere of influence, and they don't require a specific worker to use them. Instead, a city reaps the benefits of tile improvements as a function of population size.

Second Sight


The psychically powered adventure Second Sight was released last September on the three major consoles, and now it's hitting the PC with the same story and gameplay, better graphics, and a budget-minded price. With the newest iteration in the series, Warrior Within, developer Ubisoft Montreal appears to have addressed the biggest complaints about its forebear, which specifically involved its repetitive combat and short length. Yet while Warrior Within?s new combat and satisfyingly long campaign improve on last year?s game, the now darker tone falls somewhat flat compared to the storybook atmosphere in The Sands of Time. In addition, technical issues on the Xbox and PS2 platforms also mar the experience a bit. However, make no mistake: Warrior Within is a still a very worthy sequel.

Solution

Final Fantasy VII simply will not work correctly on any operating system other than Windows 95. Due to the extreme old age of this game, it requires the operating system to perform tasks that the newer Windows versions have not supported for years. Furthermore, most of the hardware in today's computers, mostly motherboards, sound and video cards, are not compatible with Final Fantasy VII.

However, there is an unofficial Windows XP patch that may help solve the problem(s) you are having when running FF7..

About 80% of the improvements are gameplay oriented, and all of them are good. There are around 20 or so additions -- ranging from the "Repair All" button at the smithies to new Horadric Cube recipies -- but I'll concentrate on the big four: the new stash, weapons swapping, hirelings, and new items. My favorite so far has been the increased character stash -- it's twice the old size, enabling you to stash a lot more items than you used to. It seems minor, but any experienced campaigner has experienced the agony of throwing perfectly good jewels and helms away. Now, instead of it being something like a medieval version of a dorm closet, your chest is capable of acting as a real cache, capable of fully outfitting your character with new weapons, potions, charms and the like when you die, which is very nice.

In addition to the stash, the ability to swap between weapons will quickly be appreciated. With it, characters can equip for various situations, whether you need to switch from a defensive sword-shield combo to two-handed all out offense or from short range to long-range, you can now swap with the touch of a hot key, where before you had to run away to re-equip. Plus, it gives you two more slots to store equipment.

Red Alert 3 introduces new units and a brand new faction.
In previous games, the war between the Allies and Soviets was coming to a close with the Allies nearing victory. In desperation, the Soviets created a time-travel device that they've used to assassinate Albert Einstein before he is able to develop the weapon technology the Allies later use to defeat the Soviets. Upon returning, they notice a new world, and there is a world war taking place between three groups for control of the world.

Play As Three Different Factions for Varied game play
In Red Alert 3, you have the choice to play as the Allies, the Soviets, or the Empire of the Rising Sun. Each faction has its own story-line and distinct units with advantages and disadvantages that you have to master in order to win. The new faction to the series is the Empire of the Rising Sun, derived from Imperial Japan, with an all-new cast of units and characters.

The three factions have many differences, exemplified by their wildly different types of units. The Soviets, for example, have armored attack bears, Allies have the Dolphin ship which can high jump and use a sonic attack, and the Empire of the Rising Sun features such quirky units as a giant transforming mecha and ninjas. As they've done with the series, EA injects humor into the game when possible, keeping a smile on your face as you wage war.

Fight on Land, in the Air, and on Sea
Red Alert 3 has land units, air units, and naval units, all integral parts of the game. Unlike most strategy games that don't bother with naval warfare, Red Alert 3 makes controlling the seas an essential part of the game. Controlling resources in the seas and mounting attacks from all directions are strategies that must be employed to achieve victory.

Cooperative Mode Lets You Team Up with Your Friends
Red Alert 3 has a fully co-operative campaign mode where you and a friend can play together to achieve victory. This means that you have to develop a strategy together, as well as execute it in synch in order to win. If your friends aren't online, you can also choose one of several AI commanders as your teammate.

Play Against Your Friends in Multiplayer
With the different units and play mechanics of each faction, you and your friends will have a great time playing against each other, perfecting different strategies to best suit the units you have and the maps you play on. And thanks to the balanced game play, no one will have an unfair advantage.

For previous fans of Command and Conquer, Red Alert 3 will provide the same light-hearted game play, but with more units, more strategies, and more fun. Newcomers to the game will soon see what all the fuss and laughter is about.

NBA Live 06

The predecessor of the NBA Live series was the NBA PLAYOFFS series, which featured Lakers vs. Celtics, released first in 1989 for MS-DOS-compatible PCs and later adapted for consoles in 1990 for the Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis. This game was played from a horizontal view (while later versions moved to an isometric view before ultimately moving to 3D on newer consoles). The game was one of the first to feature an NBA license, containing both real NBA teams and player likenesses and signature moves. Details such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's goggles are clearly visible, and Michael Jordan's "Air Reverse Layup" is animated with very high accuracy. Detailed player numbers were also visible. The game featured only eight of the sixteen teams that qualified for the NBA playoffs that year, as well as both NBA All-Star teams.

The next game in the series was Bulls vs. Lakers, released in 1991, followed by Bulls vs. Blazers in 1992. Unlike the first game, these two releases were titled after the two teams who were in the NBA Finals the previous season, while the original release apparently chose the Lakers and Celtics due to both teams' historical success. Each revision added more teams and players, as well as more signature moves. The series also included an Olympic basketball game, Team USA Basketball (1992) which uses the same engine. The final game in the series was NBA Showdown 94 for SNES before the transition to the NBA Live series.
