But so far, apart from genuine TomTom user's no one has been able to unlock the UK map.

I've done the Canary Island one, but not UK.

Os cuento paso a pasio lo que he hecho:

1.- Copiar PRIMERO a la tarjeta el fichero descomprimido que voy a poner en el FTP de Arkillo previoTT5_by_mobutu16.rar. Los que habeis copiado el tt5 antes BORRADLO. Insisto , primero instalar la version que os estoy poniendo y NO DEBE de estar instalada la version TT5
Es la versión 4,43 italiana. La ejecuté para ver que por lo menos funcionaba (yo tengo un Leadtek 9553 y no me funciona con este GPS)
Hay 3 directorios 2577, TomTom y TTMOBILE. Los 2 primeros copiar a la raiz de la tarjeta de memoria , el directorio TTMOBILE dentro de System/apps

2.- Puse el mapa de España v390 en el directorio RAIZ con el nombre del directorio Espana Navigator Map

3.- Copié el TomTom5 encima del anterior y NO BORRÉ NADA

4.- Cambié iberia.mid del fichero del punto 1, renombrando antes el original por iberia2.mid. (Aunque cre q esto no es necesario por lo que explicaré en el punto 6

5.- Encendí el GPS

6.- Ejecuté el TT5 y.....SORPRESA me salen 2 mapas uno de canary Islands....pero el otro es el SPAIN...el Iberia ya no me sale!!!. Selecciono el Spain y YA FUNCIONA

7.- En opciones del GPS cambio el GPS de tomtiom por OTRO GPS, os buscará, lo seleccionais y listo

8.- Se lo dedico a MAGG y Arkillo

PD: NI actives codes, ni Product codes, ni ná de ná...de ná.
PD2: Este método es para hacer funcionar el TT5 con la versión de mapas v390

For those of you who asked for the translation of the spanish message... here it is, it's done manually, NOT with an automatic translator, so it should make more sense =)

Have fun, and please don't ask me more information as I've just translated the text - I can't run TomTom 5 on my phone so I don't know if these steps are correct... use at your own risk! =)

If you need another method to install old maps onto TomTom Mobile 5...

I tell you step by step what I did:

1.- FIRST unpack the contents of the archive 'previoTT5_by_mobutu16.rar' onto the memory card (I will upload it on Arkillo's FTP). If you've copied TomTom 5 previously, DELETE IT. I insist, first install the version that I'm giving you, and the other TomTom 5 version MUST NOT be installed.
This is the italian version 4.43. I ran it to see if at least it was working (I have a Leadtek 9553 and it doesn't work with this GPS).
There are 3 directories: 2577, TomTom and TTMOBILE. The first 2 must be copied to the root of the memory card. The TTMOBILE directory must be copied into System/Apps.

2.- I copied the Spain map v390 into the memory card's root under a directory named "Espana Navigator Map".

3.- I copied the new TomTom 5 on top of the old one and I DID NOT DELETE ANYTHING.

4.- I changed the iberia.mid contained in the archive at point 1, first by renaming the original as iberia2.mid (even if I think this is not necessary for the reasons I'll explain in point 6).

5.- I switched on the GPS.

6.- I ran TomTom 5 and... SURPRISE, two maps are available, one is Canary Islands... but the other one is SPAIN... the Iberia one doesn't appear any more... I choose Spain and IT WORKS

7.- In the GPS options, I change from TomTom GPS to "other GPS", it will look for it, select it and you're ready

8.- I dedicate this to MAGG and Arkillo

PS: do NOT activate codes, or product codes, nothing!
PS2: this method is to make v390 maps work with TomTom 5.

Needs a PRODUCT KEY original of the new tomtom mobile 5 .. to CREATE a working keygen for maps 5.62..( I'm not sure... but I suppose)

The Product Code that I have for ITALY - 4LXGHR7M3HBS8DA -

According to the www.ttcode.com page it does not say anything of version 3.90

Surely that that product code is of version 3.90?

If it is thus, we needed a Code Product valid for version 5 of the TomTom to generate the Keygen

I know that only with an original code of tomtom5 italia we can, by using the keygen with 3 strings by dig, generate a valid activation code.
The code you have is not valid for tomtom 5, and so on all the original codes of tomtom 4 and navigator 3.
We must find a valid code of tomtom 5 italia first.
But the friend who activates it to me (he has the original tomtom5 italia) doesn't want to reveal his code...

I sent you activationcodes and not the productcodes.
So i filled a productcode at ttcode and then it gives about 6 DEVICE codes that are already have an activation code.

I gave you the DEVICE code with its activation code.
So device code + algoritme = activation code.

I f you know the algortime used, then you can use that algoritme to generate a activation code for any device code.

I will also contact octolaguna for which version of the map he used

You can use any GPS with version 5.
Just go to GPS menu and there you have an option to choose if you have a tomtom gos or other GPS

why people who have new maps cannot disclose where they got them so that we all try to find a way how to activate them?
I could activate Italy 3.90 version, Benelux 3.90 with the keygen available on the net and using product codes also widely available.
thanks to Ironcatan I could activate new Spain map.
All european maps work with TT 4.43 without any activation procedure both 2.80 and 3.90 versions. It seems with TT5 only new maps with new keygen or old 3.90 maps with old keygen and product codes work.

New series 5 maps are requested for testing the new activation procedure.

I agree to previous post.

I have a 100 kb/s ftp server... so i can host all the files but the files must be clear and good working.

So a folder with map versions and their (working!) keygen. And not how its going now.. several keygens and noone knows for which map versions....

The france keygen will work for some people
A French guy also tested the keygen and for him it worked. He has a Nokia(Symbian).
I also tried the keygen but for me it doesNOT work. I have a Qtek 8080 (MS Windows Smartphone ed) (T-Mobile SDA).

So i guess it is phone dependend if the keygen will work..... why??? i dont have a clue.

I know two different version of TT5 are available one for Symbian and another for Microsoft operating phones. For the Microsoft version there is missed the "system" folder but there are other folders called "2577" and "ZIP".
I think for your phone you must load the different version because the one for Nokia phones won't work.
I hope to find soon source for maps series 5.

with this cracked .app you no longer need any keygen (I think)
the benelux 566 kept on asking for activation and no keygen provided a good serial
and with this cracked .app TomTom is happy and let's me use the 566 map without asking for activation

so, me happy :)

What did you do?? just overwrite the old file?
For me it doesnt seems to work, it keeps on asking activation... What phone do you have?

NO keygen.... only a file *.APP to paste.... READ file TXT

THANKS to Italian CRACKER...

FOR Italian Map v. 5.62 you can find it with EMULE/edonkey....

IS there someone who can edit the file so it will work with all maps?

I just dont get it everybody only cracks the app for his own country, why not fully crack it..:S :confused:

I see in your previous posts you don't have a symbian
the .app file is only for symbian
you windows phone is using the .exe
dunno if there is a cracked .exe out yet

for windows phones you can delete the folder system as it is only used by symbian

so to keep it short, the crack is only for symbian, sorry...

dunno, think so
works ok with all my benelux and major roads of europe maps
don't have a uk map to test atm but guess it will work
try it and if it doesn't work you can re-install v4 (have a sis of it somewhere :) )

are you sure you have the cracked version?
I think you registered with the keygen so the cracked .app will solve your problem
