app. closed main ERROR patch - get it here!

after searching a lot to solve the problem, which every n-gage classic users have (with the newest firmware: v 4.03 26-11-2003 NEM-4) after a start up (error message: "app. closed main - please contact retailer" ), finally i found the patch to fix that shit! :supz:

i think this is the most usefull app for n-gage classic users and is for everybody a musthave!

here´s the description:

18.02.2005.
n-gage.
fixss. v1.02.

description.
this workaround resolves the original n-gage problem when showing
a message at startup:
App. closed
Main
and on 4.03 firmware following message:
Device start-up
failed Contact
the retailer.
this error caused by audioserver which tries to get exclusive access
to the memory card and fails.
this workaround dismounts memory card at startup, and audioserver
can get exclusive access without any problem.

installation:
transfer fixss.sis to the phone and install as usual.

this app is only for n-gage classic users! not qd or sth. else!

I had the same problem with my 6600 and 7610 .
I installed this software and found that its working for 6600 and 7610 also .
I can say that the problem has been solved and no such problem has occured since last 3 months.
So I believe that this software can be safely used on phones like 6600 and 7610 .

this app is only for n-gage classic. ever wonder why the name was fixSS? the SS means sound server. meaning it only fix the sound server of the orig. n-gage. other phones doesnt have a problem with their sound servers. "contact the retailer" problems often occur if the device or phone memory is very low. "app closed" is the only long time problem of symbian phones. but it always depends on to what app. has errors or if you always test multiple app to your phone. coz plenty of app leave excess junk file parts anywhere in the phone and memory card when you uninstall them.
