Youll have to reinstall some of ur programs from the memorycard manually.
Its a better fix than the firmware that they used lastym for flashing at its first release. i think theyv fixed the bugs, i havent seen any problems as of now... better backup ur contacts and info, coz ull be starting a new fone.

i have downloaded the the new one its better thn previos version and instalation is v easy as well but u should have ha dsl or better net connection to do it becuz its 65 mb lolz :)

fellas, its totally worth it!

I can see a visible difference in the menu speed. It opens much faster without any noticeable lags. And for some reason, the annoying WLAN connecting thing has stopped popping up.

Sound quality feels fresher. Its recognising a whole lot more Audio and Video formats. SMS and Email has got faster.

I will keep updating you guys as i find more.

As far as I know O2, Orange, Vodafone and T-mobile in the Uk have not authorised the new firmware yet. I am going to try and update when I get home but I am not holding my breath as I think I will get the same error. Apparently it works with an unbranded N80 i.e not Orange or O2 branded.

I also hear in other forums that Orange never will authorise it as they have dumped the N80 from their network.

if i install the new update then wud the preinstalled applications like the core mp4, settings wizard etc willl get removed ??

and one of my friend tried flashing the phone on his own...the phone is wroking fine but he lost his T9 dictionary...any chances of that happening ??

Once thats done, before you proceed, connect your phone to your PC using

PC Suite and make sure you back everything up!

Yes, you will have to maunally install everything once the update is done. It also depends on where you install your appz. I basically rely on my 2gig memory card to save everything. So naturally it din't take me that long.
