bloody hell!

its a big file! i need to now invest in a bigger mmc, so you know anywhere where i could get a 512mb for cheap? i.e less than £50?

Got myself a new 512 rsmmc for nokia 6260 from mobymemory for 28.99 arrived the next day, works like a dream, have now got all my apps on one card so no faffing about swapping the cards over. They also do a 1 gb rsmmc for 69.99. Got my copy of tomtom plus all maps from http://thepiratebay.org/ great app worked straight off with the gps receiver. Still get lost when drunk but now I have a nce lady telling me the way home :D

also got myself a 512RS-MMC but it' getting small if I want to travel and take a few maps along...
so momagic, I hope for you you'll manage with a 256 one (since this seems to be the max in DV for the moment)
or maybe you're lucky and they will bring a 512 or bigger soon

on that map (571) i think its got the major road of europe on it too (i planned a journey from london to amsterdam) and it worked!

Yes the 571 map has all major roads in europe on it. Even has quite a lot of detail for N. Ireland though only major roads for the Republic. And yes there is a 512 dv rsmmc out now though for mine dv is not needed which works out a lot cheaper. Are you sure you need dv? what phone you got?

With the latest map cuts TomTom have very cleverly incorporated the Major Roads of Europe into the detailed UK maps these are called "Plus" maps. This results in the GO now having street level detail for the UK and route planning level data for the rest of Europe.

All of this data takes up 198Mb on the store card. A very good reason to invest in a larger SD card.

The new Plus maps also contain the major roads of the Baltic countries, Poland and the Czech republic. (Sort of hints at what may be available in terms of mapping later this year).

If you downloaded the V5 software you have all the extra functionality except the postcodes. To get the post codes working you need the upgraded map of GB.
