Custom Fonts On N73....finally!!!!

Finally we all can modify fonts on our N73...

PLEASE NOTE THAT LATEST FIRMWARE (3.0628.0.0.1) IS REQUIRED!

If you got older firmwares,go to nokia update service and install it before trying to change fonts!

So,let's do it.....

-Insert your MMC in a memorycard reader
-Go to E:\resource
-make a 'Fonts' directory within it
-Take your favourite .TTF fonts and rename EXACTLY as follows:
NOSNR60.ttf (that's the 'normal' one)
NSSB60.ttf (that's the semi-bold one)
NSTSB60.ttf (that's the bold one)
-Once you've renamed them copy them to the Fonts dir you've created before
-Put the mmc back in the phone and turn it on!

That's it!

To remove fonts:

-Delete 'Fonts' directory in E:\resource

ATTENTION! itll will not work on APAC version firmware which includes chinese language. i know because mine was apac and i had to change the firmware to make this charm happen.good work bro!

Where did u get it ..... is there any other way to download and install this New firmwire cause my laptop shows 248 of memory.. and min. is 256 So I can`t install the new firmwire from Nokia....

On Nokia site I can find a new update but not for N73 - Does this update works for N73 as well??

also can you change the size of the fonts as well?and make them bold...?cos the fonts that are curemtly being used are quite small:(

if firmware not available. there is a solution using certain softwares to change the product code so that the nokia software updater can recognize it and update it.please google for it. and do it if you really want to take the risk.
n80 as far as iknow,
if you got the latest firmware u cannot change the font
font size depends on which truetype font you use. i got very large font.

Please help me.. I'm newbie here... How to find E:/Resouce in my MMC? Is it I need to create the 'Resouce' folder? Then create the 'Fonts' folder..? Please advice... Thanks :uglyhammer:

No, you don't have to create those folders! They already exist! All you have to do is to insert the miniSD into a card-reader, then plug it into an USB-port, save the original N73 fonts on your computer and replace them with the one you want. In order to find the folder "Resource" you have to activate in "tools->folder options->view" the option "show hidden files and folders". Good luck!

i can see all hidden files and folders but there is no folder like this on my e. or c. drive

[you can update n73 firmware in www.nokia.co.uk. than find nokia software updater soft ware. upload it and instal in your pc, than you can update your firmware online, keep connect to internet. min RAm 512 mb.

I think u can use the USB cable.. when connect the phone... choose MASS STORAGE so u can see your phone as a HD...

only half the fonts change, the fonts 'work' but some words or names are displayed as cubes and i didn't got it fixed :s
