SymSMB 1.10 enables collaboration between mobile phone and network computer on the Internet by implementing a remote file-access protocol that is compatible with the way applications already share data on local disks and network file servers. SymSMB 1.10 incorporates the same high-performance multi-user read/write operations, locking, and file-sharing semantics that are the backbone of today's sophisticated enterprise computer networks.
SymSMB 1.10:
runs over TCP/IP and utilizes the Internet's global Domain Naming Service (DNS) for scalability, and is optimized to support slower speed dial-up connections common on the Internet. SymSMB 1.10 also uses NetBIOS name services for easier integration to Windows network.
SymSMB 1.10:
uses industry standard CIFS (SMB) protocol for remote file access. All windows computers natively use CIFS (SMB) protocol to access shared files on network computers. UNIX based computers use SAMBA to share and access network files. The main task of SymSMB 1.10 is to share files located on S60 phone on the network.
S60 3rd edition phone with WiFi (WLAN a/b/g) powered by SymSMB 1.10 becomes Network Mobile Multimedia Computer> (NMMC)
Map phone (NMMC) drive or folder as a network drive from a PC and get full access to it's files.
(no cables nor PC special software is needed) Copy files to/from NMMC from any network computer without missing incoming calls.
Copy files to/from NMMC from any network computer while listening to music or watching video clips.
The future of mobile networking is today.
"The best way to predict the future is to invent it."
