surf the net using your phone as modem

Ginawa ko po ito para sa mga my pc na walang dial up or dsl cable tulad ko....

Una sa lahat, sa settings ng connection settings ng cp nyo, dun sa GPRS/Packet Data lagay po ninyo yung APN
ng sim na gamit ninyo sa Access Point. ako im using Globe kaya "http.globe.com.ph" ang nakalagay dun sa APN.
Kapag ready na, i configure nyo na po yung bluetooth sa pc nyo.

1. Using microsoft driver:

Kung detected ng OS mo yumg bluetooth mo. mas maganda kung yan na lang at wag ka ng mag install
ng 3rd party software/driver. Lalo na kung sa file transfer mo lang cya ginagamit at ang gawin mo ngang
modem ang cp mo. less memory usage at walang ganung processes kasi pag ito ang gamit mo.
(maganda para dun sa mga may pc na hindi kabilisan)

Sa control panel click Bluetooth device, click add new device (click mo yung phone mo) para mainstall yung phone as a modem.
Now create new connection, create connection mannualy, connect using dial up modem, ISP name kahi ano,
phone number to dial "*99***#" username and password, iwan po ninyong blangko, add shortcut to desktop, Done.

2. Using Bluesoleil driver:

Ito po yung nasa CD.

Open bluesoleil, click po nyo yung globe sa gitna para mag search, right click nyo yung icon ng phone nyo tas pair.
Click nyo ung pangalawang icon sa itaas (bluetooth DUN) press yes sa phone at enter sa pc. Done.

3. Using Widcomm Driver

Open My Bluetooth places, click search for device in range, right click nyo yung icon ng phone nyo tas pair.
Right click ulit, click discover available services, double click dial up networking, press yes sa cp,
sa dial lagay nyo po "*99***#" press enter. Done.
Ang Download speed po ng 2G phone sa globeay 4kbps, sa 3G naman po 40 - 50kbps.pag smart umaabot ng 300-380kbps.

kailangan mo tlga bluthooth or serial cable pwede. iseset mo lng ung gprs mo kung globe or smart. sa smart mas mabilis kung 3g inaabot hanggang 380kbps P20perhour ang charge. pag globe pede ka gumamit ng fbt kaya libre hehehe.

Magandang umaga. Pwede nyo gamitin ung ONE TOUCH ACCESS ng NOKIA PC SUITE Version 8.0 or higher para makaconnect kyo sa internet gamit ang inyong nokia fone via pop port. Ang connection para sa globe ay 460.8kbps, sa smart ay 460.8 kbps rin kapag both 3G.

Tanong lang po. gamit ko is Samsung X820, im using my phones modem as an internet medium using "Smart network".. i tried to setup to connect internet from my pc. nakapag connect nga ako sa network pero hindi ako makapag internet. ano po kulang? i remember the dialed num is **99**1#. tama po? the apn is Smart1. Gumgna po internet ko sa phone lang using opera mini but sa pc ndi.

bro, ako ba yung boardmate mo? hehehe! one option is try to upgrade your phone's PC suite baka may maitulong na siya nlng mismo ang mag-autoconfigure ng connection like nokia PC suite.

second option is try to use the bluetooth dongle and install the bluesoil driver in ur PC. the bluesoil program has a menu that will automatically connect you to the internet providing that your phone's GPRS settings is correct.

grabe ang bilis maubos ng load pag sa celfon ako naginternet using gprs.promo daw ang globe ng 50% pero ang bilis nilang ubosin ung loag kasi per kbps ang charging meaning bawat letters and gui ay may bayad.i think i should try samrt w/c is 10 pesos / 30 min...harang ang globe...

oo mas maganda ang pc suite. pc suite rin gamit ko ang dali lang makakonek at malakas ang speed umabot ng 894kbps ang speed ko kahit ndi 3g signal d2 sa amin. N70-1 fon ko.. try nyo lang gamitin ung pcsuite at cable nyo.. basta install nyo lang ang connectivity driver nyo.

i hope you guys dont mind, i think bubuksan ko ulit tong topic na to kasi i am tired hearing "yes mam, we will reports it to our technical department" from globe's CC. this is a long shot, but i need help from you guys. malay mo di ba?


here is the scenario:

- my mms and gprs settings are configured right (so is my streaming and internet). i can use mms and surf the net on my phone alright
- i am on prepaid Globe and i dont go lower than 100 bucks on load
- my phone can be used as modem, i am using w580i

My problem? When it comes to surfing the net using my phone as a modem using Globe, i cannot make it work (with Smart, it seems to work fine). I have updated my PC suite it still wont.

What do i mean it doesnt work? When i connect, my network connection tells me i am connected. I can see that i am connected with 150++ kps speed, it tells me i have activity, but its seems only one-way. Meaning i have sent packets but no received packets -I seem to have incoming but no outgoing. I even tried pinging the dns server which was automatically assigned to me upon connecting, but the request always times/pings out.

Can someone help me figure out whats wrong? Thank you po in advance :-)
