ConcertA is a chromatic tone generator developed for Symbian-based smart phone. It is capable of generating musical pitch with a chromatic range of +/- 3 octaves from Middle C.
ConcertA is a chromatic tone generator developed for Symbian-based smart phone. It is capable of generating musical pitch with a chromatic range of +/- 3 octaves from Middle C. The main screen provides various information of the tone that is currently playing and the reference frequency A of which it is based upon.
The reference frequency for A, or Concert A, can be customised from A-350 to A-550 Hz to suit the widest needs of musical instruments and orchestras.
This is a handy and inexpensive tool for tuning musical instruments. A must have for musicians!.
The application starts by playing the middle 'A' note. The default reference frequency for A is set at 385 Hz.
The tone can be set across the chromatic scale pressing using the following buttons:
Up/Down jog dial Increment/decrement the tone by 1 octave respectively
Left/Right jog dial Increment/decrement the tone by 1 semi-tone respectively
Ok jog dial Start/Stop the sound
Keypad '1' to '7' Shortcut buttons to change the tone to C,D,E,F,G,A and B respectively.
Keypad '#' Increment the tone by a semi-tone
The loudness of the tone and the reference A frequency can be configured via Option > Setup.
