Update November 2005 - TomTom MOBILE 5.20

The new application for TomTom MOBILE 5 is now available for download.
Is this update meant for me?
This update is for existing users of TomTom MOBILE 5.
In order to update the application on your mobile device, you must have a memory card reader/writer.
You cannot use Microsoft ActiveSync®, Sony Ericsson PC suite or the Nokia PC Suite to install this update.
We strongly recommend that you make a backup of your TomTom MOBILE memory card before you install the new application. The steps below for updating the application include a step for making a backup. So don't skip any of the steps below.
Why should I download this update?
We recommend installing the latest version of TomTom MOBILE 5 application on your device.
How can I check the version number of the application on my device?
From the Preferences menu, select Show version. The version number of the application is shown at the top of the screen.
What's new in version 5.20?
The new version has the following new features and improvements:

How do I update my TomTom MOBILE 5?
Part 1 for Windows® users: Download the update file
Click the Download button.
Version 5.20 for Windows (EXE)
Click Save. Save the application to your Desktop. Go to Part 2.
If you are unable to download this file, click the Download button below.
For security reasons, your network administrator may not allow .exe files to be downloaded. In such cases, you will have to download the .zip file FROM THE LINK- http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OIL79YIO Version 5.20 for Windows (ZIP)
Click Save
Save the .zip file to your Desktop.
You will need to extract the files from the .zip file before you can go to part 2.
Part 1 for Apple Macintosh® users: Download the update file

Version 5.20 for Apple Macintosh (DMG)
The download starts. A volume will mount with the TomTom Setup application. Go to Part 2.
Part 2: Using a memory card reader/writer.
You cannot use Microsoft ActiveSync® or the Nokia PC Suite, you must use a memory card reader/writer to update the application.
Note: Before you proceed, make sure that there are no TomTom CDs in your computer.
Switch off your mobile device.
Remove the memory card containing TomTom MOBILE 5 from your mobile device.
Insert the memory card into the memory card reader/writer attached to your computer.
Your memory card will be recognised by your computer.
Part 3: Update the application
Windows users, either:
Double-click the file ttmupd.exe, which is on your Desktop.
or:
Double-click the file setup.exe, which you extracted from the ttmupd.zip file.
Apple Macintosh users:
Double-click TomTom Setup.
The installation starts.
Select your language.
Read the licence agreement. You must select I agree, then click.
Select your mobile device from the list, then click.
If your mobile device is not on the list, select Unlisted mobile device. You can then specify the operating system used on your mobile device. If you don't know which operating system it uses, consult the documentation provided with your mobile device.
5. We strongly recommend that you make a backup of your TomTom MOBILE memory card before you install the new application. In order to backup your TomTom MOBILE memory card, select Backup and restore.
6. Select Backup your TomTom MOBILE.
Your TomTom MOBILE memory card is backed up to your computer.
7. Select Install the application. Click.
8. Select Memory card reader/writer. Click.
When the installation has finished, the message Installation complete is displayed.
You are now ready to use the new TomTom MOBILE application.
