Use MP3 ringtone in 6600 ,don't need any codec!!

Dear all 6600 Users, :D
I missed some words from da 1st translation.It has to install codec to made its works.Sorry everyone for the title.

How to do

1. We can use mp3 files as a ringtone for nokia 6600 by installing
mp3 codecs such as MP3OggWMA Codec 6600.sis, and don't need to
upgrade firmware at all (It's work with any firmware version:p )

2. Just trim a clip of music u wanna use it as a ringtone.
Important !! it's must save in Joint stereo 128 bits 44100 KHz
See attached files:p MP3 Joint Stereo 128 setting pic (http://www.dotsis.com/mobile_phone/attachment.php?attachmentid=8256&d=1137573916) U can make
it by Db PowerAmp Music Converter or another converter.

3. How 's the 6600 accepted the files.It 's just a piece of cake.
Nokia 6600 will accepted the files when it has id3v2 tag.
How to create id3v2 tag
3.1Use Media players such as Winamp
3.2 import file to playlist,right click on the file and choose view files info see Id3v2 tag Setting Pic (http://www.dotsis.com/mobile_phone/attachment.php?attachmentid=8257&d=1137573929)
3.3 on the right side,check the box of id3v2 tag and make the titles name
u want.

Finish !! :) Enjoy mp3 and make urs MMC much more space by deleting huge wave files.

Thanx for the great tip man. it worked perfectly on my nokia 6600. i have been waiting for this for so long. but i had to install Mp3WmaOgg.Codec also to make it work. Without the codec, 6600 doesnt play mp3 ringtone.

i'd never try on Symbian 6.1 (N-gage,QD,3650,3660,7650) by myself

So NGage, NGage QD and Siemens SX1 cant use mp3 as ringingtone

I install this codec still for a long time. But, because of an old insertion, imho, nothing works. In the list ringtones I do not see mp3 files.
Firmware - 3.42.1. Somewhere read, that it because of an firmware. Money for an new firmware is not present, the guarantee too is not present.
Therefore an output such: we take _any_ mp3 a file and _rename_ it in <имя_файла> .ogg
Try it! I think it is useless... ;)

i dont know why you have problems. maybe you must put mp3 ringtones on ''digital sound files'' yours mobile. i was choose for ringtones mp3 songs and aplications good working in my 6600. btw, i have two mp3 players - power mp3 player and ultra mp3 player, both fine works on my 6600.
