Dacia 1310 - My car
Hello guys!
Have you heard of the famous AK-47?

Probably you did!
"The main advantages of the Kalashnikov rifle are its simple design, fairly compact size and adaptation to mass production. It is inexpensive to manufacture, and easy to clean and maintain; its ruggedness and reliability are legendary" - states Wikipedia.
Well, now I would like to present to you a car, that in the world of cars occupies the same place as the AK-47 in the world of weapons.
I'm talking about the Dacia 1310.
Dacia acquired the tooling and basic designs of the Renault 12 and manufactured it in various body styles in Romania, as the Dacia 1300, between 1969 and 1979. Also, the successor of this car named Dacia 1310 was based on Dacia 1300. The production of the 1310 started in 1979 and stopped in 2004.
The first Dacia 1300 left the assembly line ready for the 23 August parade in 1969, and was exhibited at the Paris and Bucharest shows of that year. Romanians were delighted with the modernity and reliability of the car, and waiting lists were always lengthy.

And
Dacia 1300 (1975)

Can you see any difference?
At the Bucharest show in 1979, the restyled 1310 models were presented.

And check, what I found about my car!
"The cars of 1992–1994 are curiosities: although efforts were obviously being made to renew the model range, there were numerous stylistic hangovers from the quad-lamped models. Practically the only differences were those of trim level and the radiator grille."
So here's a pic of my car, a Dacia 1310 from 1994.

Isn't she gorgeous?

Those who have more luck (money!) own one like this:

But I would like to talk about mine.
It has an 1.4 L engine (1397 cm3) with 61 horse power, 4-speed manual transmission, and a lot of pieces confectioned by me.
Originally these cars had a maximum speed of 140 km/h, but some manage to make them run with 160 km/h or even 170...
Well, I never managed to get more then 127 km/h out of it...
But I'm still modifying it!
"In over thirty-four years of production, and more than 2.5 million units produced, the Dacia 1300/1310 became easily the most numerous car on the Romanian roads.
Almost everybody owned one and became adept at carrying out repairs or home-made modifications. For example, many older cars had newer front ends grafted onto them to make them seem more modern, or purely because newer parts were easier to get."
Yeah... That's what I do in my free time too!
So, if you still don't own a Dacia 1310, well, time to get one!
I assure you, that it's fun!
