Installation Notes :

1) Install 1.bt.sisx. Run it. It should say "Device added"
At this point you can also uninstall it - it is no longer needed.

2) Install 2.GPSd.jar. Run this prior to starting TomTom

3) Install 3.tomtom.sisx

4) Copy the TomTom folder from the 0.Copy.To.MEMCARD.Root.rar
to the root of your memory card.

5) Run TomTom. Choose Yes when it asks you to switch on bluetooth. Go to Change preferences, Show GPS status, Configure, Other Bluetooth GPS receiver, and select the
BiNPDA GPS.

* You need to change the preferences every time you start tomtom. It won't
remember that you were using the internal GPS*

* If you need to switch from internal, to an "external" receiver, you may need
to click on "tomtom receiver", and then "other receiver" to get the list of devices again.

it doesn't seem 2 be working on Nokia E71... I've done everything step by step as u said above including pasting the folder 'tomtom' from the .rar file to the root of Memory card.

Just extract them and copy to folder "MAP" to to the root of your memory card

I installed TomTom on my nokia n958gb by following the instrucion and everything looks great. BUT I can not reach a GPS signal never.

hi duka, if it was like mine i went to change prefereneces, then show gps status, you have to change it to other gps device, click that then wait, i have to do this everytime i start tomtom up

You have to "Waitting 4 signal" 10min or more it depend of defragment your memory card.
So it is beter to format your memory card and install it again! Much better is format phone and memory card and install tomtom first on phone then works perfect on
my n95 8g!!!

I use 6110 and Tomtom works perfectly in my system after many trial and error methods. This is what I did.

Did Exactly as I've told- installed BT- installed GPSd then installed TOMTOM- Transferred TOMTOM folder directly to memory card- It will look like this
"E:/TOMTOM"

Then I have downloaded maps for north america and extracted them to Maps folder but nothing happened. I cut it from there and pasted it in the main directory and Bingo! TomTom works perfectly. It doesn't need a Sim. U can put the phone in offline mode and then go and start GPSd. Have a clear sky to obtain the first signal and then it must be ok later.

zoeleeyadee its exiting cos u have'nt got any maps loaded on ur memory card/phone ... these have to be downloaded as well and you put them in the root folder (Tomtom)

copy the folder "voice" to your phone memory & to your mmc!!!

1) Installed 1.bt.sisx. I did run it, but it freezes my mobile :( I need to restart so I can open any app
2) Installed 2.GPSd.jar
3) Installed 3.tomtom.sisx
4) "Copy the TomTom..." done.
5) Run TomTom. bluetooth on. GPS status\Configure\Other Bluetooth GPS receiver\BiNPDA GPS. but it doesnt show "BiNPDA GPS" on the list :( probably because it didnt properly installed the BT file?

Pedrov u r rite... Bonpda didnt show cos u said ur phone froze when istalling bt.sisx. u need to re-instal bt.sisx.it will then say device present.u can then uninstal bt.sisx if u choose as u will no longer need the file once it has been installed.

is your bluetooth still being activated in tomtom? if not, u might have to turn it on manually before opening tomtom and see if that works ... then choose "other gps" as usual and ur ready to go ...

Did you tried to do a clean install. uninstall TomTom, GPSd and bt and remove the folder TomTom from your memory card. And then install it again.

I don't have your problem so I don't know what's causing it.

Does not work on 6110 Navigator :( The GPS binpda is not present when you are suppose to select it as a GPS unit.

Im using it on N95 and also managed to get it to work on N82... make sure you are standing outside to get a signal... it usually takes between 2 to 5 minutes to get a gps lock .... for those that cant see binpda, u need to instal the BT app, and it will say device added/present ... also binpda has to be started before you start tomtom ... in this way when you get into tomtom,it will ask you bluetooth connection needed and u say yes, then go to change prefrences >GPS satellite status, then choose "other gps">binpda.... then wait for the signal ....

nope it doesn't work unfortunately .... only solution is to install an older version that works fine on E66 and use an external gps ...

What do you mean when you say "pasted it in the main directory", is it the "E:/TOMTOM" or the "E:/".

ok i have teste and is in the main root! so in "E:/"

I have Nokia E51 keeps saying "no maps" when I open my tomtom application! Every other things seems to works fine. I have 4GB microSD card. And root of it I have tomtom folder where is those application files. And still root of my microSD is my map folder inclueding files I downloaded. What I might done wrong? this is not a complain and not an "how to"
but a question on the way I succeded to get it work

then I have an N73 with external gps receiver

i installed everything as described, map icluded

then if I use the tom tom without receiver it works
if i use tom tom with the receiver it works only if i DON'T start the gpsd program
if i start the gpsd program then tomtom and try to search the external receiver , tom tom crashes

why?

I have install new firmware on my 6610 in september, after this, This TT not work anymore, i have tried to uninstal propoerly and re instal again, but no way:danger: !!!

Forget trying to get this version of TomTom to work on the E71 with the internal GPS. It will work with external BT GPS. However, you will have a problem entering street names beginning with numbers like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. street. It's not optimized for phones with a QWERTY keypad.

I've tried just about every GPS apps for Symbian OS. Route66 is #1 on my list. Garmin is second.

I'm very happy with my Nokia N95 8gb ... it can accept all S60v3 apps. till now!
This phone is most complete S60v3 device on the market. Also this is most compatible phone with S60v3 applications from all other S60v3 phones ...

I have Nokia N95 8GB, and have installed tomtom6 on it as explained in this discussion about the sat navs. I have done exactly as explained, but every time i choose the gps BiNPDA, tomtom switches off after few seconds. But with external GPS its working fine BUT I WANT IT TO WORK WITH INTERNAL. Now i see few people had this problem, can you please advise me on what i am doing wrong. Kind Regards

k7h8a6n have you loaded the maps in the Tomtom folder ... my tomtom used to bomb out before i had any map loaded ... also those people who have tomtom closing after tomtom splash screen, its most likely maps not loaded .... try and let me know ... btw tomtom folder must be in root, and there must be no sub folder in tomtom ... maps,voices,poi,etc can all be in one folder called tomtom ....

k7h8a6n i am assuming that you have installed the "BT" file that says "device added" or "device present" .. thereafter u instal gpsd and tomtom.sis .... when u run gpsd skull,jus minimise by pressing menu button and open tomtom with gpsd still running in background ... then go to customise in tomtom, and gps satellite option, then choose "other" and it should come up with bluetooth options and choose binpda ... thereafter just wait a few minutes and it will pickup ... btw how long hav u waited for gpsd to pickup outside?

for all u guys who have fp2 / newer fones, bt.sis doesnt work on these fones ... iv tested, tried, searched the net and confirmed.... however, if u have an external gps receiver, then u can use tomtom with that .... other than that, no internal gps can be used on newer fones ... damn u Nokia ....

for people with FP2 , Garmin works well with internal GPS and Nokia Maps too ... not sure about route 66 (before version 8) ... havent tried that yet ...

I installed Tomtom on my n95 it worked properly for a few months with internal gps but now it just stops at the loading screen with the spinning globe

Best version to get is TomTom 6.01........ this 1 has been around for a while and its more buggy than any good. Tried and tested on 2 different handsets same issue.

its not working for me... i intsalled it in my N95 8GB... everytime when i am selecting BinPda GPS, it never connects...the bluetooth symbol shows its trying to connect but it doesn't...
any inputs on this issue ???

it doesn't seem 2 be working on Nokia N85... I've done everything step by step as u said above including pasting the folder 'tomtom' from the .rar file to the root of Memory card.
