Trekbuddy is a J2ME application to be used with a GPS receiver. It is designed to work with every Java-enabled device.

It features capabilities such as
GPS tracking and simple navigation
bitmap maps (without zoom, you can store bitmap maps with different resolution instead)
arrange maps as atlas for increasing and decreasing resolution
trackloging in NMEA or GPX format
compas screen (HPS)
cockpit screen (CMS)
location sharing via SMS with other trekbuddies
and more.
It supports most commonly used map projections and grids, such as
Latitude/Longitude
Mercator
Transverse Mercator
Universal Transverse Mercator
Swedish Grid
British National Grid
Irish Grid
Swiss Grid
Lambert France I-IV
as well as custom datums.
As a location source
bluetooth or serial port GPS
internal (integrated) GPS
NMEA file
O2 Germany network
may be used.
Changelog
- new: custom list component for better (not only but mainly) wpt listing: 255-item limit is gone on SE phone, fast paging in lists (use joy/navi LEFT-RIGHT) and in the future also searching etc
- new: delete & edit wpt actions (note: file backup is performed by default, use Settings->Navigation->Waypoints->file revisions option to control it)
- new: waypoints files from wpts subfolders are also listed
- new: geocaching/groundspeak tags support in wpt information form (note regarding wpt lists: groundspeak wpt name is prefered by default, use Settings->Navigation->Waypoints->prefer GC name option to control it)

- new: DataDir folder existence and structure is checked on start and created if not (user has to confirm creation of DataDir but sunfolders are created silently)
- fixed: coordinates format more consistent thoughout the application, controlled by Settings->Basic->Coordinates; eg. you now enter wpt grid coordinates when grid coordinates are selected (and map has grid)
- fixed: O2 Germany provider zone error
- fixed: XML (GPX, profiles, ...) parsing performance improved
