* This Garmin Mobile XT application is designed for use on Symbian smartphone (http://*****************.com/showthread.php?t=290796#) devices running S60(ie. Nokia E6x, Nokia N7x) 3rd Edition OS .
* You must have a previous version of the XT software installed on your SD card to have all of the help files, voice files and basemap files. These are not included with this update.
* During installation, you will be prompted to turn on your Garmin GPS. Please Note: You will not gain access to Garmin Online features and/or the navigation will be unavailable without connecting your Garmin GPS.
* A minimum card size of 256 MB is recommended for Garmin Mobile XT software with maps.
* Please save all appropriate data before beginning the update.

Installation Instructions

1. As with any software update, you should always create a backup of the data on your device before beginning. Please see the information provided in the user manual for your device for more information.
2. To import your existing saved settings/waypoints/routes/tracks after you have updated to the latest version, you will need to export them to the SD card at this time. Select Tools->Manage My Data then select the Manage option. Select Export GPX. This will create a file on the SD card that contains all of your saved information. Select Done and Exit the application when this is complete.
3. Copy the following file from the SD card to a safe location (this file will be used to import your saved information later):
(SD card)\Garmin\GPX\CURRENT.GPX
After copying this file, delete the file from the SD card.
4. Insert the SD card into your card reader. (Applicable for most Symbian OS devices - some Nokia phones offer 'Data Transfer' mode when connected to the PC and will allow the phone to act like a USB card reader.)
5. To begin the SD card setup, select the 'Download' link found on this web page.
6. Select to 'Run' or 'Save' the file. Selecting 'Run' will immediately launch the install program. Selecting 'Save', will save the file to your PC and require you to launch the install program from the saved location.
7. If you receive an error copying the files to the destination SD card, you will need to manually browse the card to remove the following two files:
(SD card)\Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\GarminMobileXT.SIS
(SD card)\private\10202dce\GarminMobileXT_PA.SIS
Rerun the file downloaded from the link on this web page (Step 5).
8. Follow the directions provided when running the downloaded program and directions provided on the device display to complete the application update. Insert the SD card into the phone (if necessary). If the installation/update does not occur automatically upon insertion of the SD card into your device, browse to the SD card root directory and manually run the GarminMobileXT.SIS file.
9. Exit the application (if necessary). Copy the CURRENT.GPX file saved in Step 2 to SD card location: \Garmin\GPX\CURRENT.GPX
Replace the existing file on the SD card if necessary.
10. Start the application. The import of the data should happen automatically. If it does not, select Tools->Manage My Data then select the Manage option. Select Import GPX. Your saved application data should now be available.
11. You will need to keep the SD card inserted in your device for the voice, help and basemap files. This SD card can also be used to hold your detailed mapsThax too :D

Garmin will work with nokia n95-8GB Internal GPS All You need Is A File Call SW.UNL In Your Garmin Root Folder

No need to sign or crack. It installs without any errors. Copy/create SW.UNL to get the internal GPS working. you'll also need the appropriate UNL files for maps. You can use UNL files from version 4 without any problem, just copy them to the Garmin folder and you are good to go.

P.S : However I did have some trouble with the memory card at first. It was somehow always locked by Garmin (even when it was not running), no other application i.e Music Player, USB data transfer mode, etc.. could use the memory card. I Managed to fix the problem by deleting \private\10202dce\GarminMobileXT_PA.SIS.

V5.0 is not working on my 6220, but v4.2 worked perfectly. I installed v5.0 over v4.2 but it all got messed up... I can open program and map, but the colors are mixed up, I can bearly see...How can I install v5.0 to work correctly ?? Pls help me ! :(

To anyone who have problem installing the v5 over the previous version.

1. Backup your Garmin ( Tool > Manage My Data > Manage > Export GPX)
2. Copy voice folder, GPX folder and SW.UNL from e:\Garmin folder to your computer
3. Delete e:\Garmin folder and uninstall garmin
4. run GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50000.exe that you download from here
5. after finish.. browse your mmc and there will be GarminMobileXT.Sis and install it.
6. copy voice folder, GPX folder and SW.UNL to e:\garmin
7. restore your previous setting ( Tool > Manage My Data > Manage > Import GPX)

It works on my e-71, and i got gps position in my flat. So it works better than 4.20.... You can just update garmin from exe file after downloading and conneting your phone to a computer, and than just install garminmobilext.sis from root menu(e:\garminmobileXT.sis), not from garmin folder (e:\garmin\apps\res\...) of your phone memory card.

Oooooops.... i don't believe it such software goes untested.

Despite the good interface it has, there are a lot of bugs and problems exist. For example, I have E71 when I use Garmin XT Mobile v5 for prolonged periods or I receive a call while it's working it just crashes or freezes abruptly.

Does anyone tested this on Nokia N78? how did it go?

I was able to upgrade straight from version 4.1 on my N95-1 run installer, then thanks to a few posts here, I ran the E:\garminmobilext.sis and it's looking great!

hi guis! I need help! I have nokia E65 and I had garmin 4.10 and it works great, and then I installed garmin 5 but when I tryed to locate my gps bluethooth device it says that could not be found but device is on and its working properly.
Anyone have a solution for that?

and istalled sucessfully on my N95 8GB. I downloaded the Map to my laptop too but i don't know where i must put it on my phone. Can anyone explain me how to put the map?

You have to put it on Mass memory (not on phone memory, but on mass memory, thouse 8GB that you have in your phone)

You put the map in E:\Garmin

ok i really need help with this install. i downloaded everything i needed to download onto my memory card. i havent had any previous versions of garmin because i'm having a problem installing it so any help will be greatly appreciated! once i open the .sis file to install, i open the app and all that pops up is the logo for a few seconds and then thats it....help!! oh, i can extract files but i cannot open .exe files on my computer because i have a mac! someone please help?

I have problem. After I unlocked Garmin XT,i put with Mapsource CN2009. When I try to route,only thing that i get is "air line" What should I do?

I already upgrade the software from 4.20 to 5.00 a few times...
everything is working perfectly...
but the backlight are annoying me... that's why i reinstall and reinstall...
i have changed the backlight override to always on...
but it still turn off the backlight around 1 mins later when navigating...
the backlight turned off after 2-3 sec, the backlight turned on again...
but the route will freeze for around 5 sec... then the route will become normal but no longer...
after a couple sec, the backlight turn off again...
i'll miss all the turn because of the route freeze freeze freeze... that is really annoying me.. can any1 tell me why??? or any1 here has the same problem?? there was no such problem when i was using v4.10 and v4.20...
hopefully i will get a solution as soon as possible... thankx and apreciate!!!

i had same problemo!! so i switched back to 4.20 version ..more stable n precise ;)

Has anyone tried this on N80? I've managed to install it, but when I try to run it, it says it hasn't got enough memory. It requires at least 8MB, even though there is 12MB of free RAM memory, it reports an error.

OK, it seems that 8MB is just not enough. Only when I released some 13.5MB it worked...
