Source Explorer and Name Generator: Source Explorer let you browse to the folder where renaming will occure. It works exactly like the Windows Explorer. This Explorer is detachable from the window and can be made floating to ease navigation while renaming. Name Generator let you rename files sequentially. There are 3 ways you can do this. Numerically (0 to 9), Alphabetically (a to z) and Alphanumerically (0 to F) as set in the Settings and they can be edited to fit your needs. A Mask can be entered to pad the generated sequence to a fix length.

Replace/Remove and Insert/Delete : Replace/Remove will let you replace parts of file names with a new one or using sequential names from the generator. Remove let you remove common parts of file names. Insert/Delete let you insert new or sequential text anywhere in a file name while Delete let you delete parts of file name based on position and can delete backwards.

Move/Swap and Options/Settings: Move/Swap let you move around parts of file name, either by text or position. Swap will let you swap 2 areas of a file name, using text or positions. Options/Settings is where you set other things such as Prefix, Suffix, Capitalization and Alpha rules.

Expandable...: NameWiz can be customized in any which way you like by using Plugins. For example, the MP3 plugin and text viewer plugin included with NameWiz. If you are a novice or an experienced programmer, you can make a plugin in less than 15 minutes. We provide a plugin template for C++, Delphi and PowerBasic. All you have to do is fill in the blanks, write your renaming code and you’re done. If you are not a programmer or simply do not have the time to make your own plugin, we’ll make one, just let us know what the requirements are. That's where DVD ReBuilder (DVD-RB) comes in. This program was built to bridge the gap between the incredibly easy but limited "one-click" solutions and the incredibly complex but high-quality methods of DVD ripping and backup. Another advantage of DVD-RB when compared to older methods is that it doesn't require access to an expensive authoring package. DVD-RB includes its own reauthoring engine that reconstructs the DVD in a way compatible with its original design.


Over the course of the past couple of years DVD ripping techniques have changed dramatically. Newer "one click" programs have made backing up a DVD a fairly simple process... but there is a significant trade-off. The quality that can be attained by even the best of these programs is poor in comparison to original techniques that used Cinemacraft Encoder, TMPGEnc, or other top-notch encoders. The reason is simple. When using one of these encoders the picture is rebuilt from scratch and optimized for the resulting bit rate. One-touch transcoders usually change quantization and/or motion info in order to lower the bit rate. This can result in pixelation and poor overall picture.

Changes in version 1.26, June 10th, 2007:
- Added a new MODE called "Enable Bitrate Redistribution." It should be considered to be in Beta status (meaning it's there for testing -- bugs are possible). This feature is especially useful on sources that were not optimally encoded (such as CBR or on-the-fly broadcast encoding. It will perform an initial first pass using the OPV feature of CCE SP, HC, QuEnc, or AutoQMatEnc to redistribute bits across all segments using a constant base Q value, before doing the standard encode. This mode may also improve picture quality on sources that use a less than perfect bitrate distribution on the original source. Results of the redistribution can be reviewed by reading "REDISTRIBUTION.TXT" in the D2VAVS directory after PREPARE.
- Added a hidden value for adjusting the size of the redistribution pass by setting the option "Redist_Percent=" in the "[Options]" section of the REBUILDER.INI file. The default value is 10.
- Corrected a bug related to the implementation of matrices when using OPV and CCE SP2.
