That's a cool looking skateboard, eh? If you think that's a miniature model of some kind, you're dead wrong. Actually, that's just one of the cool stuff you'll be doing in Atari's collection of mini-games, Hot PXL.

Just one of the many antics you'll get to do. Yes, there are a lot of games that'll certainly get you hooked in this PlayStation Portable (PSP) video game. No surprise that it's a very promising fun game, as the creator himself, Djon, does seem like a fun guy, too. Anyhow, Hot PXL has been compared with Nintendo's Wario Ware because of its theme, but what the heck. We can't have too much of them fun titles going about, anyway.

Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron

It was recently announced that the latest installment from the Star Wars Battlefront series - Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron - will be a PSP exclusive. Slated to be released this September, the series has a very good track record with the previous two games selling more than 10 million copies on various platforms.

The latest Star Wars game for handhelds is currently being developed by Rebellion Studios. The game focuses on the exploits of the Renegade Squadron; it's also reported to have a new storyline and multiplayer functions. Known to be composed of the toughest fighters in the galaxy, the squadron was assembled by Han Solo himself and has previously utilized their skills on missions in Korriban, Alderaan, and Sullust.

All in all, the single-player mode encompasses 11 different skirmishes. In addition to this, more maps such as Box Pity, Ord Mantell, Saleucami, Hoth (a newer version), and even a brand new Endor map should be available. For those who are into space battles, you'll be getting Kessel, Hoth, and Bespin to try your skills on.The full release of the game allows up to 16 people to battle it out in Infrastructure Mode and up to eight players in ad hoc. Each player will be given 100 points to spend on custom kits that allow you to add bonuses to health, agility, speed, weapons.Of course you will still be able to pick your species, body, uniform, and insignia options just to give your character that personal touch.

Those who play the game to see the exploits of the more famous characters won't be disappointed. Admiral Ackbar, IG-88, Ben Kenobi (Episode IV), Asajj Ventress, and Kit Fisto are among the 14 new heroes said to be making a comeback in this latest iteration of the game.Vehicle buffs won't be disappointed either since the guys at Rebellion have added new B-wings, TIE Defenders, A5-R Juggernauts, and even T4-B heavy tanks for you to pilot. What? You don't like driving generic vehicles? Well, for the pickier connoisseurs, you can pilot the Slave I, Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter, Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, and the Millennium Falcon.

To keep track of your greatness, they are are going to implement online leaderboards and stat pages so the rest of world can bask in your 1337ness. It really seems like the game has a little something for everyone. If Rebellion pulls this off, then we could be looking at another PSP classic.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Crisis Core is the fourth entry in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII project, which went out for PS2. Now, the same action RPG game is rushing its way to PSP. Can we expect a Final Fantasy game that will live up to its predecessor's name? Well, hopefully...especially since almost the same team are overseeing the PSP production of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. PS2 versions' Final Fantasy VII director Yoshinori Kitase is head of the production. There are few scans...

Bleach: Heat The Soul 4

The official website (http://www.jp.playstation.com/scej/title/bleach/heat4/) for Bleach: Heat the Soul 4 has just been updated with a few new videos of the game's battle system. Here's what we were able to gather.

Six of the seven confirmed characters - Ichigo, Grimmjow, Ikkaku, Yumichika, Hiyori, and Shinji - are featured doing a kind of overdrive combo attack mode different from the game's standard specials. Also, the spirit gauge is apparently gone, so those of you who like to spam specials are out of luck. Another interesting thing is that Ichigo can now apparently do the hyper sidestep anytime. In Heat the Soul 3, it was only executable while doing a combo.

It will be released the 24th of this month in japan.

Socom U.S. Navy Seals: Tactical Strike

http://img.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/92216/socom-us-navy-seals-tactical-strike-20070511041148091_qjpreviewth.jpg

Sony's SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike for the PSP breaks from SOCOM's traditional roots as an FPS and has implemented new features that make it a more strategic game. It's inevitable that SOCOM's new system of gameplay will be compared to Full Spectrum Warrior and Brothers in Arms (that's what IGN's Chris Roper did), but SOCOM has its won little twists that make this game unique.

http://img.qj.net/uploads/articles_module/92216/socom-us-navy-seals-tactical-strike-20070511041148825_qjpreviewth.jpg

Each encounter in the game is split into two parts: the setup and execution. The setup is where you make sure all of your men are in the correct position for maximum coverage and firepower dispersal. If you do this correctly, then you can expect the second phase of the plan to go smoothly. Execution is when the bullets start flying. And if you planned well, then your boys will be left standing.
